How To Create A Plan For Your Salon’s Reopening

How To Create A Plan For Your Salon’s Reopening

Lockdown is gradually relaxing its grip on your business. Soon enough, you’ll be catching up with old customers and welcoming new ones, making people feel beautiful again.

But of course, you shouldn’t rush into your grand reopening. You need to lay the groundwork carefully before unlocking those doors again. Hygiene measures aren’t the only thing that needs a refresh. The brand – and your treatments – could be due a revival too.

Here’s how you might get your salon back on its feet, better than ever…

Stir awareness on social and your website

First, update your site to make the date of your relaunch (and any new procedures that customers will have to stick to) crystal clear. Banner text can do the heavy lifting on your homepage, but you may also want to publish a blog or send a newsletter out with more details.

Social media is, as ever, a great way to bring people into your world before launch day. There, you can share new pictures of the salon, or post a video of your team chatting about what they’ve missed and the little things they’re looking forward to.

Competitions are another great idea. Offer a free-treatment giveaway to someone who shares your relaunch post or sends a photo of their best home makeover during lockdown.

Get the salon in shape

Cleaning is going to become a much larger part of our days, whether we like it or not. In the run-up to relaunch, share the burden with your staff. Assign each of them specific duties throughout the week. Our blog shares some tips on building a rota and switching up responsibilities every fortnight.

Meanwhile, look at your stocklist. Has any mind-blowing beauty product emerged since March? Get back into your research and competitor analysis. See what better dyes, waxes, creams or tools you’re able to afford. Offering improved results or extra value will make you unmissable.

Don’t forget to stock up on face masks and gloves either. Look for the latest industry guidelines on beauty work in a post-COVID-19 environment. You may need to retrain staff and adapt the salon so it’s more attuned to social distancing.

Consider a new uniform for your team

With so much else changing around us, you may want a visual symbol that things are different – and you’re not the same salon you used to be. After all, you and your team have had much to think about during lockdown. Some of that could be around the brand itself: what it does well, how it could improve, and the level of luxury you want to embody.

Beauty uniforms are a simple, affordable way to show off your fresh outlook. Browse our salon tunics and trousers – as well as a host of dresses and jumpsuits – to create the image you want to convey on launch day. Our salon workwear is light, breathable and washable at 60 degrees. It’ll keep your team cool as they deal with the additional challenges of managing a space under these new circumstances.

We wish you the very best of luck for your reopening! And we’d love to see your first-day-back pictures. Share them with us on social media – you can find us on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.
